About Imperial Hotel Tramontano
Imperial Hotel Tramontano is a refined 4-star establishment set in a private residence that was turned into a hotel in 1812 and played host to prestigious visitors including Goethe, Byron, Keats and Ibsen. The structure still retains exquisite historic features, including a 16th-century chapel decorated with beautiful frescoes, that can be accessed from the hotel's courtyard.
The property is surrounded by an English-style garden filled with rare, centuries-old plants, camellias and the citrus scent of lemon trees, while behind the villa’s cream facade, beautiful frescoes, oriental rugs, majolica flooring and fine period statues decorate elegant halls and lounges that invite guests to relax and unwind. The former courtyard has been transformed into a cozy winter garden flooded with natural light, and there is also a stunning sea-facing terrace offering a great panoramic spot over the Gulf of Naples and the silhouette of Mount Vesuvio in the background.
An elevator takes guests directly to the beach, which can be reached also with a delightful stroll through an old Roman path. Alternatively, those reluctant to move a muscle can relax by the sparkling pool sheltered amid the park, snacking on the treats provided by the poolside brasserie. In the summer months, guests can also book the hotel’s motorboat to explore the coast and and the Gulf of Naples.
Dining at the in-house restaurant is an experience not to be missed, with wide windows opening onto a blue seascape that at night turns into the most romantic backdrop. On the menu are Mediterranean delicacies and old Neapolitan classics, lovingly prepared by chef Alfonso and paired with fine regional wine.
