Food & Wine

This hundred-year-old tree that welcomes guests to the Villa garden gave its name to our restaurant. So why do we use the word Merry? Because dining in the company is a crucial moment of the day, one which must be lived in a superbly maintained, elegant atmosphere exuding a sense of pleasure; where tradition meets imagination to produce results which are excellent and never dull. The same care and attention is paid to breakfast, taken in the conservatory, where the warm Tuscan sun will be the first to greet you in the morning.

Lifestyle

As in any self-respecting house, Villa Armena has its own living room. A special room where you can relax after a long day exploring Tuscany, challenging yourself on the greens at one of the affiliated golf-clubs or just lounging in the sun by the pool. In fact, Villa Armena is not a hotel, but a Tuscan Villa belonging to the Hosts and this room perfectly encapsulates their philosophy. Here you will find a selection of fine "vini da meditazione" in other words, wines to be enjoyed on their own, unaccompanied by food, a wide selection of different types of grappa and the best liquors from all over the world. Enjoy a drink whilst lounging in an armchair, gazing over the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Guaranteed to stir the heart.

Villa Armena boasts 10 rooms in total, which each possess their own individual character, as well as picturesque views of the luscious villa grounds and gardens, or of the rolling hills and boutique villages of the Crete Senesi.
Retaining period features including tiled/marble floors and rustic wooden beams, the rooms are each furnished opulently with luscious, patterned fabrics, and warm golden, red and ochre hues. Take your pick between the intimate classic rooms and the spacious suites, which can have beds added to them if you’ve brought your kids with you to enjoy your indulgent holiday.
The best rooms in the house are the Superior Suites where you will feel like royalty as you envelop yourself in the luxurious sheets of your king-sized bed, and relax in a spacious bubble bath in an opulently decorated bathroom.

Villa Armena is a 5-km ride to the hamlet of Buoncovento and it's halfway between Siena and Montepulciano, about 50 minutes drive to both. The name Buonconvento comes from the latin ''bonus conventus'' meaning happy place, lucky community. In addition to the verdant and idyllic landscape embracing the towns, there are numerous sights of great historical, architectural and artistic value, starting from the massive fourteenth-century city walls that once contained inside all the houses of the village. The village has maintained its original appearance for many centuries, but in the course of the 19th century it experienced a marked evolution thanks to the construction of new buildings close to the walls, including the beautiful Teatro dei Risorti. Inside the walls the heart of Buonconvento is cut in two parts by Via Soncini, the main street named after an ancient family of the place, overlooked by the buildings of power.
