After two days sampling the French capitals historic and culinary delights (mainly of the cheese variety!) this tour enables you to head south (away from the hustle and bustle of the city) to the rolling vineyards, pastel lavender fields, and medieval architectural gems of Provence. Start by visiting a variety of villages from the Middle Ages, from Les Baux de Provence with its imposing castle ruins, to the city of Avignon, which boasts the biggest gothic palace in Europe. After an evening sampling sumptuous wines in the charming and famous surroundings of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards, your final day will be spent in the sunny squares, and broad tree-lined avenues of Aix-en-Provence. Here you’ll follow a gourmet walking tour allowing you to taste the tantalising treats of the region including the traditional French candy ‘Calisson’.
